LEARN’s 2021 – 2022 DEI Initiatives
Baseline DEI Evaluation – Establish a baseline for staff’s cultural sensitivity and understanding key DEI principles. Begin collecting and reporting on client diversity.
Manager Development – Identify and secure specialized DEI/ cultural sensitivity training for LEARN people managers.
Executive Leadership Awareness – Deliver a facilitated workshop for LEARN’s executive leadership team to explore DEI, anti-racism and privilege, among other concepts.
LEARN Future Leaders Diversity Advancement Programs – Provide opportunities for underrepresented groups to further their careers via tuition reimbursement, certificates and/or other education opportunities.
Enhanced Language Services – Improve access to translation services to assist staff in the field without relying on co-workers or existing services that are difficult to utilize.
Women/Minority Owned Business Support – Increase spend with minority and women-owned vendors.
DEI Principles Reinforcement – Build relevant, cultural sensitivity/ DEI competency in all staff through annual and ongoing learning.
HR Policies & Practices Modernization – Ensure HR practices reflect LEARN’s DEI principles.
LEARN Cares – Establish LEARN’s corporate social responsibility program to engage our local communities and staff.
New Recruitment Channels – Increase the diversity of frontline staff by proactively developing relationships with new institutions (e.g., high schools, HCBUs) and organizations (e.g., community/nonprofit groups, trade organizations, fraternities/sororities).
