Hanna Rue, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Chief Clinical Officer

As the chief clinical officer at LEARN, Dr. Hanna Rue oversees quality assurance, training, data systems, professional development, and clinical research. She brings to her role more than 20 years of work with individuals with developmental disabilities in home, school, clinic, and residential settings. Previously, Hanna held a joint position at May Institute as the vice president of Autism Services and the executive director of the National Autism Center, where she chaired the second phase of the National Standards Project. More recently, as part of a global team, she helped develop a standard set to define outcomes and measurement tools for treating autism spectrum disorder with the International Consortium of Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM). Hanna holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Dakota and maintains board certification as a behavior analyst.

Ashley Williams, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LABA

Vice President

“My guiding principle is integrity – clinical integrity in our work with clients and how I choose to lead each day. To me, showing up with integrity is at the heart of what we do.” 

Dr. Ashley Williams is a Vice President for LEARN Behavioral and oversees the greater eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire services. She received her Ph.D. in behavior analysis from Simmons College. Prior to joining BCI in 2019, Ashley served as the Executive Director of ABA Consultation and Services (ABACS) and oversaw the company’s clinical services, operations, and finance functions. In June of 2020, Ashley joined the State’s licensure board for Allied Health and currently serves as one of two licensed behavior analysts. Ashley also serves as Assistant Director of Professional Practice for the Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BABAT) and Advisor to the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies. Her scholarly work includes peer-reviewed journal articles, local and national conference presentations, and contributions to the Council of Autism Service Providers’ (CASP) Organizational Guidelines and the Autism Commission on Quality’s (ACQ) Accreditation Standards. Ashley has also served as a subject matter expert and currently teaches at Northeastern University in their undergraduate and graduate ABA programs. 

Sabrina Daneshvar, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Senior Vice President, Clinical Services

Dr. Sabrina Daneshvar oversees service delivery and clinical operations across several states at LEARN. An active member of the autism community, Dr. Daneshvar has presented at many state and national conferences, authored articles for peer-reviewed journals, and served as a guest grant reviewer for Autism Speaks and a guest reviewer for the Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions. With a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, she teaches graduate-level courses and is a board certified behavior analyst and licensed psychologist. Recently, Dr. Daneshvar was selected for Chief, a membership network that connects and supports female leaders.

Suzanne Heid, MS, BCBA, LBA

Executive Regional Director

“As both a parent and a leader at Trellis, I’m proud of our team’s ability to tap into and cultivate what makes each child unique, as we work with families to make life more manageable and give their kids the best path forward. I’m passionate about our work here and humbled every day by the insight and success stories of the Trellis team.”   

Suzanne Heid leads educational and clinical programming at Trellis. She holds a master’s degree in school counseling psychology from Western Maryland College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Suzanne began her career at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and has more than 15 years of professional experience designing and implementing highly successful treatment programs that meet the academic and behavioral needs of children with autism. Suzanne is a board certified behavior analyst and is trained in the implementation of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), an assessment used in diagnosing children with autism.

Mary Smith, BCBA, LBA

Vice President, Clinical Services

“My aim is to be the voice of many — the children, the families and the WEAP team — to make sure that every day a child learns a new skill, every day a family has a positive experience, and every day an employee goes home knowing that they have made the difference in the life of a child.”

 

Mary Smith is the executive director of the Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP). She works with directors across the five WEAP regions to make sure WEAP maintains its legacy as the leading provider of quality early intensive behavioral treatment for children with autism in Wisconsin.

Mary is a board certified behavior analyst, licensed in the state of Wisconsin. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Open University, the largest university in the United Kingdom. She earned her master’s degree in special education from the Queen’s University of Belfast, and she has a post-graduate certificate in applied behavior analysis (ABA) from the University of North Texas. Mary specializes in creating and carrying out behavioral treatment programs. She is passionate about training young clinicians in their early professional years.

Mary has worked with WEAP since 1998. She has provided treatment, consultation, and training throughout North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa. She has presented at a variety of international conferences and successfully represented families seeking funding for treatment.

Jocelyn Thompson, LCSW, BCBA

Vice President, Clinical Services

Jocelyn Thompson is a Vice President of Clinical Services for LEARN Behavioral based out of Sacramento, CA. Jocelyn currently manages services in Northern and Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, New Mexico and Louisiana. For the last 15 years, Jocelyn has worked with diverse populations in multiple settings as a behavior analyst and a social worker. Jocelyn received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA where she studied under the direction of Dr. Ivar Lovaas and completed an internship at the Lovaas Institute for Early Intervention. Jocelyn then received her master’s degree in social work from California State University, Los Angeles, where she also completed graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis. Jocelyn has actively promoted the field of applied behavior analysis through her involvement and work with local, state and national organizations. In 2013, she was selected by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to be part of the workgroup that developed and piloted the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. She currently serves as the marketing/outreach chair for Autism Speaks-Sacramento Walk, is a committee member of the Autism Intervention Network at the UC Davis MIND Institute and is on the ABA advisory panel for EQ Health Solutions. Jocelyn is also a member of the California Association for Behavior Analysis (CalABA) stakeholders advisory committee and was elected to the CalABA Board as their Professional Association Liaison. Jocelyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
